  • Additional features

Administration training

User account administration

This session addresses user security profiles; adding/modifying/deleting users; and reporting user actions.

Module type: Presentation

For EA_MS administrators who are responsible for user accounts

Network security administration

This session addresses the security administrator account; managing WAN seeds; and enabling/disabling WAN encryption.

Module type: Presentation

For persons responsible for establishing and maintaining WAN security. This module is targeted for users that have gatekeeper with WICs.

EnergyAxis Management System overview training

EnergyAxis Management System overview

Discuss basic EnergyAxis components such as gatekeepers and network elements.

Module type: Presentation

For all users of EnergyAxis, especially new employees who have not been trained on the EnergyAxis System components.

EA_MS navigation

Learn how to log onto EA_MS; how to navigate the system; change your password; and access the online Help.

Module type: Presentation & exercises

For all users of EnergyAxis

EnergyAxis Management System core features training

Element setup

Covers tasks such as setting up gatekeepers and electric network elements in EA_MS and viewing basic reports.

Module type: Presentation & exercises

For all users of EnergyAxis

On request reads

How to perform an on request read and other associated tasks, such as generating a report of the meter readings and viewing statuses, event, and alarm messages.

Module type: Presentation & exercises

For all users of EnergyAxis

Schedule setup and monitoring

This session covers tasks associated with EA_MS scheduling, such as creating a schedule to read meters; monitoring the scheduled activities performance; and resubmitting a schedule.

Module type: Presentation & exercises

For all users of EnergyAxis

Gatekeeper synchronization

Learn what information needs to be included in synchronizing EA_MS and gatekeepers; how to perform an on request synchronization; how to set up a schedule; and how to report the synchronization status.

Module type: Presentation & exercises

For all users of EnergyAxis

Communication & device troubleshooting

It is important to learn how to determine whether there might be an issue or problem with the system; how to troubleshoot both WAN and LAN communication difficulties, and how to diagnose issues for devices within the EnergyAxis System.

Module type: Module & exercises

For all users of EnergyAxis, especially those who are responsible for monitoring and analyzing communication and device performance.

Additional features training

Depending on the interest of the class, the following topics can be included in the training:

Billing & demand

Presents the EA_MS concept of a billing schedule and how to create one; understand how demand reset works in EA_MS; how to display total demand on a REX2 meter.

Module type: Presentation & exercises

This session covers billing and billing demand, and it is intended for anyone setting up billing schedules or needs to understand how demand works in EnergyAxis.

Time-of-use

Understand how TOU works in EA_MS. This session covers how to import TOU schedules from Metercat; how the TOU schedule controls some display items in the REX2 meter; and how to assign TOU schedules to REX2 meters.

Module type: Presentation & exercises

This session is available if you are setting up TOU on REX2 meters, and you want to learn how TOU is implemented in the EnergyAxis System.

Load profile

This session covers how load profile data (interval data) is collected in EnergyAxis; how to set up load profile read schedules; reporting load profile data; and reading load profile data on request.

Module type: Presentation & exercises

This session is for anyone who sets up or monitors load profile schedules or who needs to understand how load profile data is collected within EnergyAxis.

Disconnect/connect

This session explains how to disconnect and reconnect electrical service using EA_MS. It also explains how to generate a report of disconnected meters.

Module type: Presentation & exercises

This session is intended for anyone who connects or disconnects service using EA_MS

Grid modernization

This session covers reading voltage from network elements and gatekeepers; setting up a voltage read schedule; and understanding the available outage and restoration information.

Module type: Presentation & exercises

This session is intended for anyone who would like to learn how to use EnergyAxis to help modernize your grid.

Water

Learn how to set up water meters for use within EnergyAxis; how to read all the data from water meter data from a gatekeeper; how to set up a water reading schedule; and how to view water meter statuses and reports.

Module type: Presentation & exercises

This session is intended for anyone who need to understand how water meter information is obtained using EnergyAxis.

XML import files

This session explains how to add, modify, and delete gatekeepers and other network elements; and putting gatekeepers and meters on schedules using XML import files.

Module type: Presentation

This session is intended for anyone who will be creating CIS Import files to set up their gatekeepers and meters in EA_MS.

XML meter read files

This session covers the overall XML read file structure, meter identification, and billing determinants.
